Review of Diet Pills

Diet pills have become one the ways an individual may consider to lose weight. There is information each individual should consider about each diet pill before starting to take it.

Oral Phentermine Hydrochloride is a diet pill for weight loss. It comes from a family of appetite suppressants.

With diet, exercise, and behavior therapy, this medication will help individuals to lose weight. This diet pill comes in three forms tablets, capsules, and resin capsules.

Phentermine brand names are Ionamin and Adipex-P. Phentermine should be taken on an empty stomach, once a day, prior to breakfast. If it is being taken in tablet form, it may be broken in half. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Phentermine may disrupt normal sleep patterns, so avoid taking doses late in the day. Take the dose as late as about 4-6 hours before bed.

Take the medication only as directed by your doctor, do not take more of it, do not take it more often, do not take it for longer than prescribed. If too much medication is taken, it may cause unwanted effects or become habit forming.

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible, unless it is close to next dosage than skip the missed dose. An overdose is not likely to be life threatening, however if a much larger dose is taken please contact your doctor or 911 as necessary.

Xenical is a diet pill designed for individuals who want to lose weight. Unlike other diet pills, Xenical is not an appetite suppressant. Xenical works in an individual’s digestive tract to block fat from being absorbed.

Individuals eat a reduced calorie diet with no more than thirty percent of calories coming from fat. Individuals must follow the proper medication schedule, monitor their food intake, take a multivitamin everyday, and set achievable goals for weight loss.

Taking Xenical along with following a healthy diet has shown to decrease total and LDL cholesterol, improve ratio of good to bad cholesterol, reduce blood pressure, reduce levels of insulin, and reduce or delay the risk of type two diabetes.

Individuals should start to see results in about two weeks, if individuals do not they should speak with their doctor. Take Xenical at a meal where fat is present, or three times a day. Take at the meal or up to an hour later.

If no fat is present at the meal, or a meal is skipped, skip that dose of Xenical. An individual should talk with their doctor before starting on Xenical.

Diet pills are one way an individual can choose to lose weight. Each individual should talk with their doctor before starting or considering any diet pill.
