When it comes to foods to eat for low carb diet lists, they allow fruit on some low carb diets and not others. Some do not allow fruit in the first phase but do after a few weeks. Some low carb diets depend upon the glycemic load or index while many look at the total amount of carbs.
Some fruits with high nutritional value have the lowest sugar content. It is difficult to make a compete list of fruits because of the different low carb diets but the following are some which contain the least amount of sugar.
These include rhubarb, many types of berries, grapefruit, apricots, melons, apples, pears and peaches.
Fruits high in sugar include mangos, dried fruit, bananas, kiwi, oranges, grapes, pineapples and tangerines.
